Artist Statement/Bio: Bernie Carreño's work is primarily accomplished through fabricated or cast metals. He uses industrial materials to ensure reduction of the subject to pure form is fundamental to the work. Complex details are stripped away, reducing the subject to clean lines. He believes form is an effective tool to communicate complex ideas clearly and with strength.
Bernie Carreño received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Sculpture from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. His pieces can be found in collections and galleries throughout the United States and Canada.
